DISNEY GENIE
App launches Fall 2021
Disney Genie is new feature of the MyDisney Experience (Walt Disney World and Disneyland (Disneyland Resort) apps. There are two versions of Disney Genie available to park guests that include a free version and a paid version. The cost of the paid version is $15 USD per ticketed guest per day at the Walt Disney World Resort and $20 USD per ticketed guest per day at the Disneyland Resort.
Disney Genie (Free Version)
The free version of Disney Genie allows park guests to use an online app to check attraction wait times (actual and projected), mobile ordering, mobile check-in, view wait times for walk-up dining reservations and plan their day in the park of their choice by entering their preferences and allowing the app to determine their day. The app will update over the course of the day based on attraction wait times and park availability allowing users of the app to monitor and adjust their plans for the day in real-time.

Disney Genie+ (Paid Version)
Guests who pay for the Genie+ version of the app will receive additional benefits over and above those in the free version, including:
Lightning Lanes – Lightning Lanes replace the FastPass+ system at both parks and are divided into those included in Genie+ and add-ons for the most popular rides (meaning, it is an added-fee above that paid for Genie+).
The added costs for popular attractions and lists of what attraction is in each tier have yet to be released. The cost is expected to vary based on attraction and the day/time of selection. Guests staying at Disney resort may select Lightning Lane options at 7:00 a.m. on the day of their visit, with other non-resort guests able to begin Lightning Lane selections at park opening.
Augmented Reality Photos for Disney World – Guests are able to use their mobile devices to take augmented reality (AR) photos in the park.

PhotoPass Downloads for Disneyland – Disneyland guests can download all of their PhotoPass photos at no additional charge.
The Disney Genie app has not received positive reviews from Disney fans after it was announced on August 19, 2021 for implementation in the fall so these features and pricing may change when it finally launches.
